A significant challenge, with the acceleratedpace of change in the world today, has made it difficult to create an environment that allows businesses and families to do their best. Mutual respect from all members is required to keep them engaged, collaborating, innovating and creating.

There are two ways to show, grow and create respect with business and families:

1. Everyone needs Appreciation, Inspiration and Recognition.

2. Family and Company meetings need to be Inclusive, respectful and everyone is allowed to be heard.

We must give respect to get respect. We must acknowledge the value of each person. We must respect the opinion of each person. Consider the following questions for the week:

1. What can I do to allow me to respect myself more?

2. How can I show, create, and build respect with my family and my business team members?

Soldier charging into battle, little fear, little concern for themselves.  There is a mission and duty to achieve for the greater good.  An act of accepting a challenge to do something that needs doing. There is no stopping to weigh the pros and cons. There is confidence they can get the job done. There is little thought beforehand. Word of the Week: Responsible

Week beginning February 21, 2022; each week we discuss a principle or value of the Qualities of Success. We suggest you use the Word of The Week in your thoughts, deeds and actions.  You might currently possess the quality and desire to develop it to a higher level.  You could replace a bad habit with a good habit.Write an action step and use it daily to develop the Quality in your life.

The virtue this week is RESPONSIBLE in honor of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln born in February 1732 and 1809, respectively.

Responsible is an obligation or duty to do something; having control over a project or care for someone.  Several synonyms are authority, importance, power, liability or obligation.  Responsibility is a sign of maturity. Respond to a call of action to be held answerable or accountable.

Everything that has been done in the history of the world has been completed by someone.  Somebody took control and exercised power to do it. Our share of the responsibility depends and will vary with our environment and social structure.  Our responsibility increases with maturity.  Adam and Eve had charge over the Garden of Eden.  When Adam ate the apple, he pointed the finger at Eve and laid the responsibility on her; she then turned around and said the snake was responsible

Mature people have taken charge of their lives and their conduct, they own up to their actions and answer for them.

Until you take control and be responsible for your life, someone else controls your life.

Can you think of a time when you stood up, answered the call, took control of the situation and saw it through to completion?  How did you feel?

Words of the Week: Persistent & Consistent

Week beginning February 14, 2022; each week we discuss a principle or value of the Qualities of Success. We suggest you use the Word of The Week in your thoughts, deeds and actions.  You might currently possess the quality and desire to develop it to a higher level.  You could replace a bad habit with a good habit.Write an action step and use it daily to develop the Quality in your life.

The virtue this week is actually two words, PERSISTENT and CONSISTENT; Consistency is when you have a worthwhile goal or objective and you work on it every day or as much as needed to accomplish the goal or complete the job. Persistent is when you take that work up a notch each time you do it. One way we might say this is “hang in there” especially “when the going gets tough; the tough get going”.  Perseverance, a very nice synonym, is often crucial to success.  It is an essential quality of character in leadership.  High performance and productivity and even good in the world are sometime lost to wavering, hesitating, or just not sticking to the plan. The moral of the familiar fable of the tortoise and the hare is, “slow and steady wins the race”.  Perseverance is an essential ingredient in human progress.

The opening line of Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens stated, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times”.  Today we are in the necessity of times as stated by Sam Adams in 1771, “More than ever, ourutmost deliberation, fortitude and perseverance is required. We are in an age of radical opposites taking place at the same time.
